Seward, Alaska is a small fishing town that is a 2 1/2 hour drive South of Anchorage. You can also reached it by train, bus or plane. Seward is about a 35 minute flight from Anchorage.

Seward is also a main Alaskan deep water port and the destination of several cruise ships.

Seward is better known as the gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park, which is a 650,000 acre park that includes the 300 square mile Harding Ice Field. Large tour boats offer sightseeing packages that are from a few hours to even a full day. Groups traveling together often split up for the day with some members taking the chartered fishing trips and others the sightseeing trips.

Seward also has a good selection of accommodations to choose from. There is a smorgasbord of things to see and do while in Seward.

One of the many attractions is the Alaska Sea Life Center which offers a look into the wonderful underwater world of Alaska. The Sea Life Center is a research facility and has live birds and animals on display and in rehabilitation.
